No screens. No pressure. No rigid schedules.

Just muddy boots, open-ended adventures, creative activities, group games, nature exploration, and the kind of childhood memories that stay with them for years to come.

Every day is different because every group of children is different. We allow curiosity, imagination, and the natural world to guide our adventures.

Our Setting

Wild + Rooted Nature Camp is located on 23 private acres designed to give children the space to breathe, move, explore, create, and reconnect with the natural world around them.

Our setting includes wide open farm fields, natural green space, large clusters of trees for exploration and imaginative play, and endless opportunities for hands-on outdoor learning throughout the seasons.

At the heart of the property is our cozy club space — a calm, welcoming home base for shelter, rest, warming up on colder days, and moments when children need a quieter environment to reset and regroup.

This is not a traditional classroom.

It is a space where children can build forts beneath the trees, follow curiosity through the fields, watch the seasons change around them, create with their hands, move their bodies, ask questions freely, and experience the kind of childhood that feels grounded, connected, and alive.

Every part of the environment has been chosen intentionally to support creativity, emotional well-being, exploration, imagination, and meaningful connection — both with nature and with themselves.

Mylah, our Jack Russell, and Sage, our Mini Australian Shepherd, are beloved members of the Wild + Rooted Nature Camp community. Both love outdoor adventures, exploring trails, playing games, and spending time with children.

Their presence brings connection, comfort, companionship, and plenty of joy to camp life.

All interactions with Mylah and Sage are gentle, supervised, and child-led. Children are never required to interact with the dogs and are always free to choose their own comfort level.

Tanya Meilleur
Founder of Wild + Rooted Nature School + Camp

This program was created from both deep passion and deep loss.

After losing my 13-year-old daughter to suicide following years of bullying and feeling unsupported within the school system, my entire perspective on childhood, emotional well-being, safety, and education changed forever.

I know what it means for a child to feel unseen.

I know how deeply children need spaces where they feel safe, supported, connected, and valued for who they are.

Through both my personal journey and years of work centered around nervous system regulation, behaviour, emotional well-being, mindfulness, and nature-based connection, I became deeply passionate about creating something different for children.

Wild + Rooted is more than an educational program and camp.

It is a space intentionally built to support the whole child.

A space where children are encouraged to move, explore, create, ask questions, build confidence, connect with nature, and feel safe being themselves.

My goal is not simply to teach children.

It is to help create an environment where they feel seen, heard, respected, supported, and genuinely excited to learn.

Because every child deserves to feel like they belong.

Programming takes place primarily outdoors and may be adapted based on weather, seasonal conditions, and group needs.

Space is limited and registration is subject to availability.
